Bangalore: The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the India-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCCI) on Thursday.

The agreement is aimed at facilitating trade ties between the two countries.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of KASSIA by its president M.C. Dinesh, honorary general secretary A.S. Joshi and by ICCCI representatives Jenny Zeliang, additional director; P.N. Ramachandran, Executive Director.

The MoU provides for joint ventures in both the countries, consultancy services, exchange of visits, publications and information between the two countries, conduct of international fairs and exhibitions.

The MoU is valid for three years with the option to renew it thereafter.

Presiding over the signing of the MoU, J. Crasta, president, FKCCI, described the MoU as a “watershed” in KASSIA’s diamond jubilee year.
