Nearly a month-long cultural programmes for Dakshina Kannada Karavali Utsava 2010-11 will begin in the city on Friday. The programmes have been scheduled till February 2.

The programmes will be held every evening simultaneously at the exhibition grounds, Lalbagh and at Kadri Park till January 16. They will be held from January 17 to February 2 only at the exhibition grounds.

The programmes scheduled include Carnatic and Hindustani music concerts, instrumental jugalbandis, Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, folk dances, Yakshagana, light music, dramas, magic, puppetry show, nadaswara recital and so on.

Additional Deputy Commissioner S. A. Prabhakar Sharma told presspersons here on Thursday that the three-day beach festival would be held from January 21 at Panambur beach.

Sajan Misra and Rajan Misra from Delhi will perform at Kadri Park on January 16.

Every day programmes will begin at 6 p.m.
