The ‘Goa Vision 2035', a meticulously prepared document is aimed at comprehensive development of the State to make it more prosperous, said Chief Minister of Goa Digambar V. Kamat.
He was speaking at golden jubilee celebrations of the Goa liberation movement here on Sunday.
In order to implement proposals of the vision document, the Goa Government had set up the Golden Jubilee Development Council. The members of the council are drawn from different sections of society, he added.
Mr. Kamat felicitated freedom fighters who had taken part in the liberation of Goa from the Portuguese. He paid rich tributes to freedom fighters belonging to Belgaum who had participated in the Goa liberation movement 50 years ago. He said that the relationship between Goa and Belgaum had come a long way and was highly cordial and friendly.
Kakasaheb Patil, MLA (Nipani), Padma Shree Prema Purav (Pune), vice-president of the Akhil Bharat Goa Swatantra Sainik Samiti Jayanand Mathkar and Bishop of Belgaum Diocese Rev. Peter Machado were among those present.
