Kamasamudra to be wildlife sanctuary

Minister for Forests B. Ramanath Rai told the Legislative Assembly that declaring Kamasamudra forest as a wildlife sanctuary is under way. This would help in checking elephant menace in the surrounding villages.

Replying to K.S. Manjunatha Gowda of Malur during a discussion on the issue, the Minister said moat construction, laying solar power lines, water ponds and raising fodder plants for elephants would be done once the area is declared a sanctuary.
