The annual conference of the Karnataka Association of Community Health (KACH), which concluded on Saturday at Fortune Inn Valley View here, deliberated on infectious diseases and the menace of emerging infections and antimicrobial resistance. Over 300 delegates attended.

Sowmya Swaminathan from the National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai, R.C. Dhiman from the National Institute of Malaria Research, Delhi, Ravi Kumar from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi, and Dilip Mathai of the Department of General Medicine, CMC, Vellore, spoke. KACH awards such as Best Community Health Professional, B.M. Patil Oration Award and Young Scientist were presented.

The valedictory function was presided over by Registrar of Manipal University G.K. Prabhu.
