Convener of the Jan Sangram Parishad (JSP) S.R. Hiremath has said that as part of its voter awareness programme, the parishad would campaign against “tainted” politicians, including the former Chief Ministers B.S. Yeddyurappa and H.D. Kumaraswamy, and Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Hiremath said the JSP State committee would organise a campaign and appeal to the people to vote out corrupt candidates.

He said the JSP would campaign against the following politicians: Mr. Yeddyurappa (Shikaripur); Mr. Kumaraswamy (Ramanagaram); Mr. Shivakumar (Kanakapura); K.S. Eshwarappa (Shimoga); Murugesh Nirani (Bilagi); Shrishailappa Bidrur (Gadag); Rajashekhar Gonal (Kushtagi); Shankar (Ranebennur); Karunakar Reddy (Harapanahalli); Shivaram Hebbar (Yellapur); Satish Sail (Karwar); Abdul Wahab (Hospet); Anand Singh (Hospet); B. Sriramulu (Bellary Rural); B. Nagendra (Kudligi); T.H. Suresh Babu (Kampli); Sa.Ra. Mahesh (K.R. Nagar); V. Somanna (Vijayanagar); Somashekhar Reddy (Bellary); and Santosh Lad and Anil Lad (Bellary and Kalghatagi).

Mr. Hiremath said the JSP would urge people to vote against the Karnataka Janata Paksha and the BSR Congress.

The parishad will write to leaders Vaijanth Patil, S.K. Kanta and Jabbar Khan Honnali and ask them to quit the KJP and contest as Independent candidates. It was unfortunate that these candidates had identified themselves with the KJP, Mr. Hiremath said.
