HASSAN: Parameswara, convener of the Karnataka Rajya Vayomithi Meeruthhiruva Nirudyogi Shikshak/Shikshakiyara Okkuta Hassan Zilla unit, has said that members of the organisation will resort to a “Raj Bhavan Chalo” on Thursday to appeal to the Governor to ensure that all unemployed youth were recruited before they cross the age limit.
Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr. Parameswara said there were 3,380 Teachers Certificate Higher Course-trained candidates in the State and the previous Government had decided to recruit 3,380 primary school teachers. The Government had now issued a notification stating that only 2,254 primary school teachers would be recruited. This would leave 1,126 trained candidates jobless. He said they would appeal to the Governor to include these posts as well and issue a separate notification to that effect. He demanded that in all future teacher recruitments through the Common Entrance Test, 40 per cent of posts be reserved for candidates aged 29 and above. Office-bearer Chandrashekar was present.
