Gulbarga: Members of the district unit of the Janata Dal (Secular) took out a rally here on Wednesday to protest against the Statewide agitation launched against the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda by Bharatiya Janata Party.

The JD (S) activists, who staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, burnt an effigy of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and raised slogans against the BJP Government for its “conspiracy” to acquire farmlands for the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project being executed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE). The BJP workers were continuing their protests against Mr. Gowda even after he had expressed regret for his remarks against the Chief Minister.

Memorandum

The JD (S) activists later submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor H.R. Bhardwaj to Deputy Commissioner R. Vishal.
