The district unit of the Janata Dal (Secular) will organise workers’ conferences in 18 Assembly constituencies in the district before January 30.

In a press release, JD(S) district unit president Ashok Pujari said office-bearers of district, taluk and block-level committees had been advised to reach out to the people and inform them about the party’s achievements under the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.

He said workers had been cautioned against being carried away by false promises by other political parties. “The Bharatiya Janata Party government in the State and the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre have failed to address the needs of the people. They are only interested in looting public money,” Mr. Pujari alleged.
