The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will tour the Hyderabad Karnataka region in March as part of their Statewide initiative to strengthen the Janata Dal (Secular).
Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, district president of the Janata Dal (S) Subhash Guttedar, Aland MLA, said the dates for the tour were had yet to be finalised.
Mr. Guttedar said his resignation from the post of district president was rejected by Mr. Kumaraswamy.
He had been asked to continue in the post with the assurance that all issues would be resolved.
Mr. Guttedar had decided to quit after there was opposition to his decision seeking appointment of the general secretary of the district unit immediately after he was nominated president a few months ago.
On the appointment of the new office-bearers of the Yuva Janata Dal (Secular) in the district, Mr. Guttedar said the issue would be discussed after the district-level youth Janata Dal (Secular) convention scheduled for Wednesday.
State president of the Yuva Janata Dal (Secular) Madhu Bangarappa, working president Chandrashekhar and actor Pooja Gandhi would participate in the convention, he said.
Sources said Dattatreya Chandrashekhar Patil Revoor, son of Aruna Chandrashekhar Patil Revoor, MLA, is likely to be nominated as president of the district unit of the youth wing.
