JD(S) leader urges transfer of officials

The former Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader B. Satyanarayana staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday demanding the transfer of five officials from Sira taluk in Tumkur district. He alleged that the officials — Sira Rural Police Inspector Ravikumar, Assistant Executive Engineer Kariyappa, Block Education Officer Raj Kumar, and Revenue Inspectors Rajesha and Junjegowda — were urging citizens to vote for the Congress.

He said his earlier attempts demanding a transfer of these officials had fallen on deaf ears. Mr. Sathyanarayana said he would bring the issue to the notice of the Election Commission. — Staff Correspondent
