Janata Dal (S) floor leader in the Legislative Council, M.C. Nanaiah, on Tuesday urged the government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss impact of Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (KWDT) II award on the State. He said the decision on sharing of unallocated water could go against the interests of farmers of the State. According to the judgment, Karnataka had to make good a portion of water, if Andhra Pradesh suffers a deficit year. Similarly, Karnataka has to wait for another 37 years to claim its share in the 513 tmcft of allocated water. “This needs to be questioned in the apex court,” he said. — Special Correspondent
