BANGALORE: The Police Department has invited applications to fill the 701 posts of constable in the India Reserve Battalion (IRB), headquartered in Munirabad in Koppal district.
According to a press release from Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Training and Recruitment) Sunil Agarwal, aspirants can obtain the application forms from any of the offices of Superintendent of Police in the State till August 31. The last date for submitting the applications is August 31 and only men can apply.
Mr. Agarwal said that in the backdrop of naxalite activities gaining ground in Karnataka and also due to non-availability of Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) battalion in the eastern part of the State, the IRB has been headquartered in Munirabad to check naxalite and terrorist activities.
The selected candidates are required to work in naxalite/terrorist-affected areas and also under emergency situations in any part of the country, he said.
The common written examination is proposed to be held in the first week of October in Bangalore, Belgaum, Davangere, Gulbarga, Mangalore and Mysore.
