Mohammad Zadhei (53), an Iranian national, who entered the non-swimming zone at Sinquerim beach in the north coastal belt, drowned, Calangute police said. Lifeguards of Drishti Life Services manning the beach rushed to rescue the man after they saw that he suddenly collapsed in knee-deep water. Lifeguards brought him to the shore. However, upon checking his vitals it was observed that he had no pulse/breathing. His family members, who were present, requested that he be shifted to a hospital, said Drishti report on Wednesday evening. At the request of the family member the victim was immediately transferred to the Candolim Primary health Centre in the lifeguard jeep, where doctor declared him dead.
