The 15th Indian Metal-Cutting Machine Tool exhibition, IMTEX 2011, billed to be the largest in South and South-east Asia, will begin in Bangalore on January 20.

The exhibition, organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), will showcase an exhaustive range of innovations and technological refinements in metal-cutting machine tools.

Along with IMTEX, an international exhibition of cutting tools, tooling systems, machine tool accessories and metrology, among others, Tooltech 2011, will also take place.

This event will feature the newest trends in cutting tools and tooling systems from all across the globe. The exhibition has attracted 800 exhibitors from 23 countries, and 750 machines with a total value of Rs. 1,400 crore.

Shailesh Sheth, Media Chairman of IMTMA, told presspersons here that the momentum of Indian machine tool industry was back. New sectors such as aerospace healthcare and energy helped the industry focus on high-end technology and innovation, he added.

High-level business delegations from the Automotive Component Manufacturers' Association, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, ordnance factories, Indian Railways, Tractor Manufacturers' Association and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. will participate in it, he added.
