Revenue and Police Department officials unearthed an LPG cylinder selling racket during raids at several places in the city and outskirts on Tuesday evening.

Four persons, suspected to be involved in the racket, had been arrested and 26 cylinders and 18 gas pass books were seized from them, according to a press release from Chandragupta, Superintendent of Police.

The raids were conducted by Ashok, Assistant Commissioner (probationary), Police Inspectors S.S. Hullur, Girish Bhojannavar along with other officials. The names of the arrested were given as Suleman, Anwar Basha, residents of Cowl Bazar area in the city and Shivakumar and U.K. Eeranna of Sangankal. The accused were said to be procuring gas cylinders and were illegally selling it as auto fuel. A case has been registered.
