The Indian Institutes of Management will organise the first ever Pan IIM World Management Conference on ‘Emerging Issues in Management’ at a resort here on Friday and Saturday.

Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) M.M. Pallam Raju will inaugurate the conference on Friday at 9.30 am. IIM-Calcutta is the lead coordinator of this conference.

Ambassador of France to India Francois Richier will be the special guest, and other prominent keynote speakers include Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for HRD; Geet Sethi, world professional billiards champion; Srikant M. Datar, professor at Harvard Business School; and Rafiq Ganjee, film producer, Dharma Productions.

The conference will focus on themes such as ‘Firm of the Future’, ‘Looking Beyond Profits’, ‘Inclusive Growth’, ‘Managing People’ and ‘Future of Management Education’.

“IIMs started the experiment of jointly organising conferences with the India Finance Conference hosted by IIM-Calcutta, IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Ahmedabad two years back. This time it is all 13 IIMs coming together,” said Ashok Banerjee, Dean of New Initiatives and External Relations, IIM-Calcutta and Programme Chair of this conference.
