: Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, KJP nominee from Bidar constituency, brushed aside reports that if elected, he would resign his seat to contest for the Lok Sabha polls in 2014.

“There is a possibility that my son could contest in the Lok Sabha elections. But I will not resign. I have entered the contest with a plan to develop the district,” he told presspersons. He resigned his seat in 2009 to join the BJP, just one year after he was elected on a Congress ticket to the Bidar Assembly constituency in 2008. — Special Correspondent
