“I made a mistake by quitting the Congress. I admit it,’’ Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, MLA, and senior KJP leader said in Bidar on Sunday. He was responding to Congress leader and MP N. Dharam Singh’s comment that he had advised Mr. Nagamarapalli not to quit the Congress to join the BJP in 2008, but he did not listen to him.

“Mr. Singh is right when he says if I were to be in the Congress, I would be in a position of power. Even I feel so,’’ he said. “But then I am an MLA now and that is an opportunity for serving the people,” he said. He, however, said that anything could happen in politics in future, but did not elaborate. — Special Correspondent
