High command has asked me to be ready to contest from Mysore: Vishwanath
Corruption, communalism and credibility will be my poll plank: Vishwanath
‘The BJP Government has lost credibility’
MYSORE: The former Minister H. Vishwanath, who is the likely Congress candidate for the Mysore Lok Sabha constituency, will make corruption, communalism and credibility as poll issues.
Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Vishwanath said the Congress high command had asked him to be ready to contest from Mysore. He said that as legislator and Minister he had served the people to the best of his ability without compromising the values he had nurtured in his life. As a matured and experienced politician now, he wanted to enter the Lok Sabha to serve people in a meaningful manner.
Mr. Vishwanath said that he had a vision for the comprehensive development of the Mysore constituency.Referring to the increasing corruption, he said: “The BJP Government has made MPs, MLAs and members of local bodies as commodities by purchasing them under the guise of strengthening the party. It is sad that Karnataka is first in the list of States where money is being offered to secure votes. It is necessary to put an end to this. Let me make a sincere effort in this direction.”
He said that the BJP Government had lost credibility as it had not fulfilled the promises made to the people.
