Kannada writer Chandrashekhar Kambar, who won the Jnanpith Award recently, said here on Friday that he was hurt by the remarks made against him by the Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.
Mr. Kambar who visited veteran journalist Patil Puttappa's residence here on Friday declined to comment on the remarks made by Mr. Thackeray.
“I am hurt; I don't want to say anything,” Mr. Kambar said.
Earlier, Mr. Kambar, along with his wife, Satyabhama, met Mr. Puttappa. During the discussion, Mr. Puttappa raised the issue of the reported bad condition of the Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School for Girls at Kittur in Belgaum district, and requested the Jnanpith Award winner to take up the issue with the authorities.
