Hundreds of RSS volunteers took part in the ‘pathasanchalan’ (march past) held as part of the Vijaya Dashami celebrations here on Monday.

The cadres of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) that gathered at the Nehru Stadium split into two groups to cover various areas of the city and converged at Durgad Bail circle.

After converging at Durgad Bail, the volunteers marched through Broadway and Koppikar Road to return to Nehru Stadium, where a public function had been organised. BJP State chief and MP Pralhad Joshi, former MLA Virabhadrappa Halaharavi, and BJP Hubli-Dharwad district unit president Lingaraj Patil participated in the march past. They were later joined by the former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar. RSS office-bearer of South Central Region V. Nagaraj addressed the volunteers. Shraddha Tools and Dyes managing director Sharanappa Hagedal and RSS sanghchalak G.H. Naregal were present.

The police had made elaborate bandobast on account of the march past and diverted traffic on the arterial roads of the city for some time.
