Gold ornaments, weighing around 700 grams and cash worth Rs. 60,000 were stolen from a house in Nehru Colony here, early on Saturday. The police suspect that the burglar gained entry by breaking a window pane, and then the lock. The gold ornaments and cash were kept in an almirah, which was reportedly unlocked.The incident came to light only when the owner Thippeswamy, an executive engineer in Bellary Thermal Power Station, and his wife woke up in the morning. The Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case.
