Padma Ramachandra Sharma, writer, has been selected for the 2011–12 honorary award instituted by the Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati Pradhikara. She is one among four others who have been selected for the award.

Ms. Sharma has translated Kuvempu’s works to English. She has also translated one volume of ‘Sri Ramayana Mahanveshanam’ by Union Minister M. Veerappa Moily to English.

The others who have been selected are Pa. Sha. Srinivasa, Janardhana Hegde, K.K. Nayar and J. Sadananda Shastri.

Each of them would be presented a purse of Rs. 25,000 and a citation, the release added. — Staff Reporter
