A delegation of MPs from the State has submitted a memorandum to the Union Finance Minister calling for the restoration of 30 per cent import duty on raw silk and the creation of a revolving fund for market intervention.

The MPs also urged the Centre to consider the demand for an incentive of Rs. 25 per kg for cross-breed cocoons and Rs. 50 per kg for bivoltine hybrid cocoons.

Before submitting the memorandum recently, they held discussions with Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha K. Rahman Khan.
