A software engineer was killed on the spot when he slipped from his motorcycle after losing control while overtaking a truck here on Monday. Kadapa native Praveen Kumar B. (25), who worked for an IT company in Ulsoor, was staying in Koramangala.
Praveen was on his way to work when he attempted to overtake a lorry on Koramangala Inner Ring Road. When he saw that two vehicles were coming from the opposite direction, he applied the front brake in panic, Ulsoor traffic division police said. As a result, he fell off his bike, sustaining severe head injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital. Police said he was not wearing his helmet.
In another accident, a bus driver, who was taking a nap under another bus on Wipro’s premises in Electronics City, was run over on Monday.
Rajendran (55), assigned to ferry Wipro employees, was napping under the bus parked next to his. Another driver, Girish, moved the bus without noticing Rajendran.
A grievously injured Rajendran was shifted to a private hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
The Electronics City police are looking for Girish.
