Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha has asked the Lead Bank of the district, State Bank of Mysore, to regularly inform the district administration about hefty cash transactions in view of the model code of conduct which in force for the Assembly elections.

In a letter to the District Lead Bank Manager, Ms. Shikha said all banks in the district should to bring transactions above Rs. 1 lakh, if found suspicious, to the notice of the Income Tax Department, according to a press release.

Directions

The Election Commission has issued directions to keep a close watch on the daily transactions in all banks, the release said.
