The Home School, Thalagattapura, conducted its annual fair recently. Amidst lots of fun and frolic, teachers and students came together to organise, conduct and promote this colourful event at school. The Junior Red Cross movement of the school has been conducting this every year. The proceeds of the sale are donated to help the needy.
At the fair, three rooms full of handicrafts and other items made or donated by students and teachers were on sale. There were eating outlets that sold mouth-watering homemade dishes.
Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Koramangala, celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Children's Day recently. Y.V. Gundurao, soft skills trainer, was the chief guest. He provided tips to students on how to excel in life. Students presented a colourful cultural programme. K.S. Bhat, chief executive officer of the institution, and Prema Krishnamurthy, correspondent, were present.
Fun with science
Jain Public School recently hosted Vismaya, a science exhibition. Vijay Kumar, principal, Jain Engineering College, inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibits covered a wide range of topics.
A few students visited a company to get hands-on experience in working on tissue culture while a few others were sent to Narayana Hrudayalaya to learn about stem cells. The highlight of the exhibition was an air show that attracted a huge crowd.
All about Parliament
St. Anns High School, Rajajinagar, conducted a model parliament session recently. The session was an attempt to demonstrate to students the real challenges in the legislative process of the country.
Students got to play the roles of the Speaker, Prime Minister, MPs, Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, audience and the press, and vociferously put forth their thoughts.
Students were encouraged to develop interest in clean and honest politics.
