‘Owing to frequent power cuts, water cannot be pumped from Gorur Dam’

HASSAN: President of the City Municipal Council Ratnamma Mahantesh, vice-president C.R. Shankar and Commissioner H.S. Prasanna Kumar have regretted the absence of a proper drinking water distribution facility to the city.

They said in a press release here on Monday that following frequent power cuts, pumping of water from the Gorur Dam as well as the functioning of the Haluvagalu water distribution plant to Hassan city had been affected. Hassan city gets water from the Hemavathi river (Gorur Dam), with the Haluvagalu as the source.

Load shedding

Some parts get water through energized borewells. But, due to unscheduled loadshedding, water distribution had been affected, they added.
