The Gulbarga police have sounded a high alert in the district, particularly in areas bordering Andhra Pradesh and also in the city where Muslim population is high, following bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

Superintendent of Police N. Sathish Kumar said here on Thursday that the district police have set up checkposts in border areas to check vehicles coming in and going out of the district.

Checkposts have been set up at Mudhol in Sedam taluk, Mahagoan in Gulbarga taluk and in Chincholi taluk bordering Andhra Pradesh.

He said night patrolling had been intensified in the district.

All lodges were being checked to collect details of those who had checked-in in the past two days, he added.
