Bharatiya Janata Party members took out a protest rally here on Tuesday, urging the Centre to recall Governor H.R. Bhardwaj.

Party workers marched from the BJP office to Ambedkar Circle shouting slogans. They submitted a memorandum addressed to the President, through the Deputy Commissioner's office and burnt an effigy of the Governor.

According to the spirit of the Constitution, District BJP president Subhash Kallur said, the Governor was supposed to be a statesman.

“But Mr. Bhardwaj is acting like a politician.” He accused the Opposition of misusing the Governor's office for political ends.

Members of the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest here on Tuesday demanding that the Centre recall Governor H.R. Bhardwaj. Protesters led by A. Papa Reddy, former MLA, took out a procession to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, where they staged a dharna. They condemned the Governor's recommendation of President's Rule to the Centre, describing his act as politically ill-motivated.
