Chaturvedi attends Sri Ramayana Mahasatra at Sri Ramachandrapur Math at Hosnagar
SHIMOGA: Governor T.N. Chaturvedi said on Thursday that Lord Rama, who represented all the basic Indian values, was a great unifying force".
The Governor was participating in the Sri Ramayana Mahasatra being performed at Sri Ramachandrapur Math in Hosnagar taluk since April 14.
He described Lord Rama as a symbol of peace and said precisely for this reason that he was termed as the "Maryada Purushottama".
The Governor complimented the swamiji of the Ramachandrapur Math Sri Raghaveshwar Bharathi for organising the mega Ramayana Mahasatra on a grand scale.
He praised the "Go Rakshe" initiative of the swamiji to protect the Indian cow.

Sri Mallikarjun Murugharajendra Swamiji of the Bekkinakalmath addressed the gathering.
Sri Raghaveshwar Bharathi Swamiji conferred the "Purushottam" title on Bhadragiri Achutdas, keertanakar and recipient of the Kanaka Purandara Award from the State Government in appreciation of his contribution to the promotion of the Indian culture and heritage.
The Governor was accorded a traditional reception when he arrived at the Math premises.
He visited the place where the Rama Taraka Japa was going on before visiting the "Kuteer" of the swamiji of the Math.
