Home Minister R. Ashok on Monday said the Government was yet to decide on who should take over as the next Director-General and Inspector-General of Police. The name of the official would be finalised by Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda after his return from Bellary where he is campaigning, he said.

The tenure of the present DGP N. Achuta Rao will end on November 30 as he attains superannuation.

According to sources, the Directors-General of Police Shankar M. Bidari and Abdul Rehman Infant are in the race to occupy the coveted position.
