Government removes ad from website

The State government has removed links to its advertisements posted on its official website (karunadu.gov.in). The Hindu had carried a report on Tuesday on the advertisements on the official website of the government, in violation of the model code of conduct.

The model code of conduct restricts posting of advertisements at the cost of public exchequer in any media.

The code of conduct has been in effect since March 20, when the Election Commission declared the elections for the Karnataka Assembly.
