‘Prepare list of beneficiaries for Ashraya houses’

Report sought on implementation of scheme

Bijapur: There was a good response to the “Janaspandana” programme held at Babaleshwar village of Bijapur district on Saturday. More than 150 grievances on various issues such as drinking water supply, ration cards, Ashraya houses, bus facilities and others were addressed by district in-charge Minister Govind Karjol.

The Minister also distributed cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes such as old-age pension, and pension for physically challenged persons.

The Minister suspended gram panchayat secretary of Kumate village who had failed to provide Ashraya houses to beneficiaries and did not attend the janaspandana programme. Mr. Karjol also relieved Assistant Director, Horticulture Department, Hemalatha, on charges of dereliction of duty and irresponsible behaviour.

.He instructed zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer Chennappagoudar to prepare a list of eligible beneficiaries for Ashraya houses and provide houses to poor people on priority. Mr. Karjol directed the officials concerned to submit a detailed report on implementation of the Ashraya scheme in the district.
