MYSORE: It may not be the ultimate in endurance test but nevertheless is a popular past-time among fitness freaks of Mysore.
The reference is to climbing the Chamundi Hills using the steps, which is a popular means of keeping oneself fit by many residents of the city.
Given the arduous task of climbing 1,000 steps, only those physically fit would have opted for it, nearly 100 people, including boys and girls, participated in the Chamundi Hills step-climbing completion held under the auspices of Nehru Yuva Kendra, District Youth Services and the NSS wing of the University of Mysore here on Wednesday.
The event was flagged off by S.A. Ramdas, MLA.
Athlete Thippavva Sannakki, a student of Teresian College, who recently won a bronze medal in the inter-university athletics championship meet in Chennai, gave ample testimony to her physical fitness and athleticism by finishing first among girls.
M. Puneeth emerged first in the boys’ category.
