Vigilance Department to also organise poster competition

The Goa Directorate of Vigilance will observe the Vigilance Awareness Period–2010 from Monday to November 1 to have an effective anti-corruption campaign.

M. Modassir, Secretary (Vigilance) will inaugurate the programme here on Monday followed by the presentation of a street play by Shrisha Creation Group of Ravon, ‘Sattari'.

The Vigilance Department has also organised a State-level poster competition on the subjects including “effect of corruption on daily life of common people”, “effect of corruption on economy and development of country”, “effect of corruption on personal life of a corrupt person” and “status of corrupt person in the society”.

The poster competition is open for all citizens of Goa. Posters will be accepted from Monday to October 28 in the office of the Directorate of Vigilance, Altinho, Panaji, and at Lokmat Newspaper Office, Panaji.

Paper for the competition should be of thick cartridge and 1/2 imperial size. Colours can be of any medium.

The exhibition of these posters will be held at the Goa Museum hall here on November 1. The prizes for the first three winners of the poster competition are, Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,000. Certificates will also be issued to all the participants.

On November 1, the concluding day of the campaign, a debate will be held on “Awareness against Corruption and an effective Anti-Corruption Campaign” at the Goa State Museum hall from 9.30 a.m. to noon.
