PANAJI: Matanhy Saldanha, the former Tourism Minister, said it was high time that Goa's elected representatives take a lesson from Kerala leaders, who, irrespective of their political affiliations, have halted the national highway land acquisition process and demanded a reduction of width of 30 m in order to protect people's interests.

In a statement , chairman of the National Fishermen's Forum (NFF) criticised the Goa Ministers and politicians for failing to stand up for people's rights.
