Kasturba Hospital will organise a programme, “Preventing Diabetes”, on its premises here on Saturday. In a press release issued here on Tuesday, medical superintendent of the hospital M. Dayananda said the programme was aimed at spreading awareness among the people about diabetes.

It would educate people that healthy lifestyle and food habits could keep diabetes at bay.

There will be a free screening of blood sugar and blood pressure and physical examination of all the participants during the programme. The programme would include an exhibition on diabetes.

There will be stalls on foot care and on diet and nutritional aspects related to diabetes and healthy living. Lalaji Mendon, Kaup MLA, will inaugurate the programme.
