The Department of Surgery at Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Attavar, will organise three-day free screening camp for patients having stomach ache, abdominal pain, swelling in the body, thyroid swelling, hernia, piles, fissure, breast lump, varicose veins and gallstone. The camp will start on Thursday and will be between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Furthermore, in order to do a complete evaluation of the patient, the camp patients can avail 20 per cent discount on all radiology investigations and 10 per cent discount on laboratory investigations, a release said.


Prabhakar Shriyan has been elected chairman of Dakshina Kannada unit of Indian Red Cross Society. Earlier, he was a member of its managing committee. Mr. Shriyan is also the vice-president of Mahathma Gandhi Peace Foundation and president of the Mangalore taluk unit of Bharat Seva Dal. He was also the former Member of Mangalore Urban Development Authority, a release said.
