A scheme to distribute free health insurance smart cards to families of below poverty line workers and beneficiaries of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme under the Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojana was launched at Doddahasala in Kolar taluk on Friday. District Labour Officer S. Revanna said that under this scheme, cardholders can avail themselves of medical facilities up to Rs. 30,000 in select hospitals in any part of the country free. Gram panchayat president D. Chennakeshav and senior assistant director of Information Department C.M. Ranga Reddy were present.
