KSDL products to be sold through 800 PDS retail outlets Pact with KSFCSC to improve the marketing strategy
BANGALORE: The next time you set out to shop at a PDS retail unit, be prepared for some surprises. Forget the usual, unexciting smell of grain stocks, check out for some real, exotic Mysore Sandal products. Here is the soap story: The Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) has now made available its products at subsidised rates through 800 PDS retail outlets in the State.
The KSDL recently held a meeting with Karnataka State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (KSFCSC) officials to improve its marketing network through the PDS. The KSDL and KSFCSC had signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve the marketing strategy of the KSDL products.
This is what the KSDL Managing Director Parshwanth had to say about the initiative: "Our objective is to broad base KSDL sales and reach as many customers as possible directly. Since our products are in good demand, by selling these in PDS retail outlets, we want to ensure availability of these products to consumers throughout the State and at reduced cost."
In accordance with the MoU, KSFCSC will sell KSDL products through its PDS network and to wholesalers. KSDL will supply all publicity related material to all retail outlets and warehouses.
