It will disturb patients and also hamper future expansion plans

Harpanahalli (DAVANGERE Dist.): D. Narayana Das, former MLA of Harpanahalli, has opposed the construction of mini Vidhana Soudha on the premises of Government hospital in the town. He said that it would not only disturb patients and doctors in the hospital but would also hamper expansion plans of the hospital.

Mr. Narayan Das told presspersons at Harpanahalli on Tuesday that the hospital had been constructed at Rs. 8 lakh on the land donated by Hastimal Jain in 1988.

The hospital was constructed under the Hyderabad-Karnataka development programme when he was MLC.

Since not much grant was given to build the hospital then, a building was constructed keeping other areas for future expansion. He said that he would write a letter to the Chief Minister in this regard asking him to stop the construction in the hospital premises.

Legal recourse

He said that he would be constrained to take up a legal battle against it if the government failed to stop construction of the mini Vidhana Soudha on the hospital premises within a reasonable time.
