MANGALORE: Over a hundred children vied with one another to consume as much ice-cream as possible at the Kadri Park here on Sunday.
Parents were encouraging their children, who were participating in an ice-cream eating competition, to consume more of it.
Organisers were inviting 10 children at a time on to the dais. The children were made to sit facing the crowd and eat the specially made “Dinky Light House” ice-cream. Jaycees, which had organised the event, had ensured that the ice-cream was hard to make it slightly difficult for children to scoop it with spoons. Raksha took 1.54 seconds to eat a Light House in the seniors category of nine to 12 years. Yet, she stood third behind Yagnesh L. Shetty (1.37 seconds) and Sanah (1.48 seconds). A competition for parents was added to mark the Mother’s Day.
