Lokayukta had asked the legislators to file their statements

BANGALORE: As many as five MLAs have failed for the second successive year to submit the mandatory statements of assets and liabilities before the Lokayukta within the stipulated time.

They are among the 39 MLAs who have not declared their assets and liabilities for the year 2007 by June 30.

The five MLA are Dinesh Gundurao (Gandhinagar), Raghu S. (C.V. Raman Nagar), Srinivas M. (Rajarajeshwarinagar), Krishnamurthy K.M. (Kadur) and Sangameshwara B.K. (Bhadravathi). Derrick M.B. Fullinfaw, the Anglo Indian Nominated MLA, is also among the legislators who have failed to comply with the deadline. Minister for Social Welfare D. Sudhakar is also in the list. Writer Chandrashekar B. Kambar is among the eight MLCs who have failed to comply with the rule.

The Lokayukta had asked recently elected legislators as well as those in the previous Assembly to file their statements.

According to the information given under the Right to Information Act, the names of other MLAs who have not filed within June 30 are Anand Asnotikar (Karwar), Angara S (Sullia), Chandrakanth Bellad (Hubli-Dharwad West), Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli (Bidar South), Harris N.A. (Shantinagar), Khadar U.T. (Mangalore), Mahesh S.R. (Krishnaraja Nagar), A.B. Malaka Reddy (Yadgir), Malikaiah Venkaiah Guttedar (Afzalpur), Manju A (Arakalgud), Nehru Channabasappa Olekar (Haveri), Nemiraj Nayak (Hagaribommanahalli SC), Puttarangashetty C (Chamarajanagar), Ramannna Lamani (Shirahatti), Ramaswamy Gowda B.B. (Kunigal), Rudresh Gowda Y.N. (Belur), Sampangi Y (KGF), Sangameshwara B.K. (Bhadravathi), Shivakumar D.K. (Kanakapura), Shivalingegowda K.M. (Arasikere), Shivanna Thiluvalli (Ranebennur), Siddaraju M.S. (Maddur), Srinivas S.R. (Gubbi), Srinivasa Prasad V. (Nanjanagud), Sudhakar M. (Chintamani), Suresh D.S. (Tarikere), Suresh Gowda B. (Tumkur Rural), Syed Yasin (Raichur), Thippeswamy (Challakere), Veerabhadragouda Patil (Yellapur), Venkatesh K. (Periyapatna) and Vittal Katakonda (Nagaratna).

The remaining MLCs are Arun Machaiah C.S., Gurudev B.R., Kattimani Ashok, Nyamagouda Siddu Bheemappa, Ravi S., Saleem Ahmed and Shivashankar H.S.
