Four of them are Robertsonpet City Municipal Council employees

Kolar Gold Fields: The Commissioner of Robertsonpet City Municipality Council (CMC), Kempahanumaiah, has filed a complaint with the Robertsonpet police against five persons accusing them of forgery and cheating.

According to sources, the accused include four CMC employees.

It is learnt that the Commissioner has complained that the accused have forged the signature of the former Commissioner of the CMC, Sarfraz Khan, who is now a private secretary to the Agriculture Minister, K. Srinivasa Gowda.

The sources said Devendran, a pourakarmika in the CMC, died five years ago while in service. His son, Rajendra, was given a job on compassionate grounds. Following allegations that he was responsible for the theft of a camera in the CMC office, Rajendra committed suicide two years ago.

Appeal

Later, his mother, Manjulamma, appealed to the CMC authorities to provide a job to one of her family members on compassionate grounds.

However, she learnt that a certain Rajendra has secured a job in the Yelahanka CMC office on compassionate grounds following the death of Devendran. Subsequently, she sent a petition to the Deputy Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration seeking an inquiry.

The inquiry revealed that some persons forged the signature of Mr. Sarfraz Khan and sent a letter recommending to the authorities concerned to provide a job to one of the family members of Rajendra.

The letter was forwarded on July 27, 2000 when Mr. Sarfraz Khan was transferred from KGF. Based on these findings, the CMC Commissioner was asked to file a complaint against Narasimha, Vijayakumar, Krishna and Rajendra.
