MYSORE: The first graduation ceremony of the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) will be held here on Saturday. The function will take place at the diamond jubilee complex of NIE at 10.30 a.m.

The institute got the autonomous status from the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, as per the UGC norms in 2007.

H.P. Kincha, Vice-Chancellor of VTU, will be the chief guest.

He will distribute degree certificates to M.Tech students.

V. Prakash, Director of CFTRI, Mysore, will be the guest of honour. He will present endowment awards to meritorious students.

S.R. Subba Rao, president of the NIE Board of Management, will preside over the function. Forty awards would be presented to meritorious students at the graduation ceremony, the release said.
