Manipal-based Jnana Jyothi Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Trust, jointly sponsored by Syndicate Bank and Vijaya Bank, opened its 39th centre in Yelahanka in Bangalore and 40th at Hapur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The 41st centre at Soraba, (Shimoga) will be opened on Monday, said a press release. The trust will shortly open two more centres at Peravoor (Kannur district) and Kondotty (Malapuram District) of Kerala. The trust has 38 centres all over India including 19 in Karnataka, two in Kerala, five in Andhra Pradesh, seven in Uttar Pradesh and five in Haryana. They provide free financial literacy and education. They give information about financial products and services to various target groups, including, school and college students, women, rural and urban poor, defence personnel and senior citizens.
