Government plans to build the film city in Hesaraghatta village

It will be developed on the lines of the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad, says Minister

BANGALORE: A film city will be developed by the Government in Hesaraghatta village in memory of the late thespian Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan.

“The land has been earmarked in the Hesaraghatta village for the purpose and the film city will be developed on the lines of the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad,” Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure G. Janardan Reddy announced in the Legislative Council on Wednesday. The House paid rich tributes to the departed artiste and observed a minute’s silence in respect of Mr. Vishnuvardhan. Later, the House was adjourned for the day. Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa announced that the Government was ready to spend Rs. 10 crore to set up a memorial for Mr. Vishnuvardhan in Bangalore.

He told presspersons that the memorial would be built after consulting the family members of the late star, who passed away in Mysore on Wednesday morning.
