Four persons allegedly threatened and robbed a man and his son residing in Yelahanka New Town and robbed them of valuables, including 350 gm of gold jewellery, on Sunday night. One of the victims, Govindan, a contractor with the Public Works Department, had asked his son Shiva to go to a nearby shop to buy snacks. According to the police, when Mr. Shiva returned home at around 10.40. p.m., the four, who had followed him, barged into their house. They threatened Mr. Govindan and Mr. Shiva with lethal weapons and made away with gold valuables, including 10 finger rings, a bracelet and 18 pairs of earrings.

Mr. Govindan filed a complaint with the police. CCTV cameras installed outside the building shows footage of the miscreants passing near the complainant’s house prior to committing the robbery, the police said.

CCB arrest

The Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested two persons on charges of gambling and recovered Rs. 1.25 lakh from them. The arrested have been identified as Krishnakumar (39) and Srinivas (39). The duo had placed bets on the IPL match between Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.

On receiving information about the gambling, the CCB sleuths raided a house on Hanumanthanagar 14th main road, 9th B Cross and arrested the two. Along with the cash, they seized two mobile phones from the arrested. A case was registered with the Hanumanthanagar police.
